Journey Manager
This Journey Manager release is ready for you to download, packed with new features and bug fixes which you have been waiting for. Discover the release highlights below or by reading the detailed Manager release notes. For an introduction to all the great features available in Manager, see Journey Manager Features.
- API Security
- To provide our customers with the best tools and options to ensure their solution is secure, we've added support to the existing Journey Manager API endpoints enabling the use of different authentication methods, such as OAuth or JWTs. This allows setting a security manager for your API that is different to a security manager configured in the Transact Manager module, which is used for authenticating users accessing the Journey Manager Home Dashboard. We've achieved this by separating the APIs into a new Manager API module, which is deployed as the
tm-manager-api.war
file. The new WAR file is available in the installer and it's selected by default.
- Collaboration Jobs
- We've added the ability to start a collaboration job earlier in the initial journey flow. Previously, if a job service was configured in a form, collaboration jobs were created automatically after the initial submission was made by a user. Now, we've now enabled creation of collaboration jobs for submissions in the Open or Saved states any time after the initial form request. Using the new
JobBuilder
Fluent API - setInitialTxnTrackingCode()
- you create a job linked to such submissions, which provides better flexibility in orchestrating user’s journeys. For more information, see Job Details.
- We've added support to immediately purge collaboration jobs in the Completed state.
- Fine-grained Billing
- We've introduced a new billing feature to allow more customizable tracking of the billable aspects of clients onboarding journeys. Through the Fluent API a client can now create a bill record. These records indicate a billable transaction and can be created on demand in any Fluent service. Bill records can be linked together to form a journey and are periodically published out to the Temenos transaction record keeping service. We've added 2 new permissions - Bill Edit and Bill View - to control user access to this functionality.
- Orphaned Records Auto-deletion
- We've updated the Database Integrity Checker service and the Database Integrity Checker job to auto-purge invalid orphaned database records if the Delete Orphaned Records option is selected. This option is set back to false to prevent records removal on each service run.
- Password Expiry
- We've enhanced the Local Security Manager with users' password expiration, rotation and notification functionality, which applies to user accounts assigned to form spaces that use the Local Security Manager for access authentication and authorization. This is achieved by introducing 2 new parameters - Number of old passwords and Password Expiry Days - allowing you to configure desired behaviors.
- The Security Policy Manager job has an additional task to check user account's password expiration and send a password expiry notification email reminder to the account at a configurable time - Password Expiry Reminder Days - before the password expires.
- Data Retention Management
- We've added 3 new settings - Max Billing Record Age Days, Max Event Inbox Age Days, and Max Event Outbox Age Days - to the Global Data Retention Configuration and Data Retention Management v2 Service to refine data purging:
- We've also added the Reset Defaults button to reset Global Data Retention Configuration with the recommended default values.
When you install or upgrade Manager, the Data Retention Management v2 service is not set as the default service for the Data Retention Management type - the Data Retention Management service is set by default. However, as with any other services, you can change it by following these steps:
- Apply any existing Data Retention Management service settings to the Data Retention Management v2 service. This is particularly important as every client has their own customized settings which are aligned with particular business requirements and legal obligations to keep and purge PII data.
- Set the Data Retention Management v2 service as default by clicking Make Default or selecting the Service Type Default checkbox.
- Test the Data Retention Management v2 service in your lower environments, such as DEV and TEST.
- Confirm successful results before moving to the next environment.
- Enable it in your production environment when you are completely satisfied with test results.
- Enhanced PII Search
- To ensure the optimal performance is achieved in Workspaces, the Enhanced PII Search property is set to
true
by default now.
- Forms
- Global forms functionality has been temporarily disabled while we are reworking this feature.
- You can now access submission properties of a form in Form Page Tracking.
- Form Data Obfuscation
- We've added a new option - Force Obfuscate - to obfuscate the form data regardless of the client agent type. Some clients, such as Postman or embedded browsers, receive the data in clear text format, so when choosing Force Obfuscate, the data will be forced to obfuscate regardless of the client type. For more information, see Configure a Form Version.
- Form Space Resources
- We've added the Fluent API and REST API to create and update form space resources.
- Core Global Services
- We're now require user to have the Core Service Edit permission to remove Core Global services. Otherwise, the remove option is not available.
- Fluent Services
- As the range of solutions expand on a given system customers often find that they have repeated services that are utilized by multiple solutions across a number of different organizations. Certain Fluent Service types can now be assigned to multiple organizations, allowing the services to be shared. Reducing the number of individual services that are deployed to a system. This helps keep the system usage down and makes support and maintenance easier. For more information, see Assign Organizations to a Service.
- Delivery
- We've added the Not Required and Completed delivery statuses to the Transaction Status UI.
- Receipt Generator Service
- We've added a new Receipt Generator service to create receipts using only a form design and a form XML data.
- Security Manager
- We've replaced the single Strict Header Security option with 3 separate options - Strict Header Security By Host, Strict Header Security By IP, and Strict Header Security By User Agent - in the Security Manager configuration and the Form Version configuration. This is to provide a fine-grained control of the headers.
- Installer
- We've updated the Journey Manager installer with the option to install a new Manager API module. Also, we've removed the option to install the JM Operations module.
