Save Challenge Overview

MaestroThe UI design product.  |    Form Builder  |  All versions This feature is related to all versions.

Maestro comes with the Save Challenge feature, also called Save and Resume, which allows a form user to save a form, with all filled data, at any point and then open it later to resume filling the form from the point where the user left off.

When a form is configured to allow online saving, the form will be saved as a draft to Manager, so it can be securely retrieved by the original user later. PDF forms can also be configured for offline saving, where the user saves a copy of the form to their computer.

There are many business cases where it's very handy for a form applicant. For example, when they don't have all required information or documents on hands and therefore the form application has to be postponed until the form applicant will get it available.

When the user saves a form, they are given an automatically generated reference code. This reference code is defined in Manager and is required to open the saved form. Along with the reference code, the form builder can also include a security question which the user must answer. Using the reference code, along with a security question, creates a two factor authenticationTwo-factor authentication (2FA), sometimes referred to as two-step verification or dual factor authentication, is a security process in which the user provides two different authentication factors to verify themselves to better protect both the user's credentials and the resources the user can access. Two-factor authentication provides a higher level of assurance than authentication methods that depend on single-factor authentication (SFA), in which the user provides only one factor -- typically a password or passcode. Two-factor authentication methods rely on users providing a password as well as a second factor, usually either a security token or a biometric factor like a fingerprint or facial scan., which makes a form application more secure.

If implemented, when saving a form, a form user is prompted to answer the security question. If the answer is correct, the form user is able to save the form with their data still in place when they return to the form. When returning to the form, the form user is prompted to answer the security question again and provide the reference code that they were given when they initially saved the form.

You can use any component to capture a security question, for example, the Text Field component.

When the user saves their form, they are presented with the Save Confirm dialog. When the user returns to resume their form, they are presented with the Save Challenge dialog.

The Save Challenge can be configured to popular answers for the pre-defined questions with data previously entered by the user. You can even request multiple questions using multiple components.

Note

For the Save Challenge to work, you need to enable the Save Online option in a form in Manager.
