Journey Manager is a secure, high performance application server that processes, manages, and monitors transactions associated with customer onboarding journeys. To provide the best customer experience while handling a significant number of transactions, the application server requires specific system configurations described below.

Journey Manager can be run in the cloud or on premise, depending on your requirements. We recommend running our software in the cloud environment provisioned by Temenos Journey Cloud Service, so you can have new services commissioned quickly and additional capacity allocated to you dynamically as required.

Journey Manager can also be provisioned in other regions that support the services required by our software.

You can install Journey Manager in local environments giving you complete control of the whole infrastructure.

You should use the latest OS version that Journey Manager supports. Ubuntu is the recommended OS for Linux based systems.

Note

You must upgrade your environment to a required OS version first, before installing Journey Manager that supports that OS version.

Hardware

Journey Manager runs best on latest Intel Xeon or AMD x86-64 CPU architectures with high CPU performance. We recommend using server virtualizationVirtualization is the creation of a virtual resource such as a server, desktop, operating system, file, storage or network to manage workloads by radically transforming traditional computing to make it more scalable., such as VMware ESX, to enable better hardware utilization and improve operational support.

The recommended server specification is:

  • Intel Xeon or AMD Processors 8 Cores with 2.4 GHz or greater clock speed (4 Cores minimum).
  • 16 GB of RAM (with the TJM requires at least 8GB for its JVM memory allocation).
  • 100 GB of disk storage.
