Maestro provides you with the Card Content Template component to simplify the process of collecting card details and representing these details on a card display. A card is a type of a layout that collects and displays details about an applicant or form user. You can use this component to:
- Add one or several card details to a form.
- Select and edit card details.
- Add advanced card details by adding multiple components to the template.
The Card Content Template is used to build the details that make up a card. For cards-based layout forms, the Card Content Template is the recommended starting point as it allows form users to enter details for one or many cards. Once entered, the Card Content Template provides form users with the ability to navigate between different card details for selecting and editing purposes. The Card Content Template is quite similar to the Repeating Block Template in that it allows multiple instances of the same set of components to be added to a Maestro form.
To configure the Card Content Template component:
- Open a Maestro form.
- Click the Palette tab.
- Expand Cards to see all available Cards library.
- Click the Card Content Template. This component combines the functionality of both the Card Selector and Card Content components.
- Drag and drop the component on your form. The example below shows the Card Content Template with two text fields.
- Add several components if required. The example below shows the Card Content Template with multiple components.
- Edit the component’s details. The Enter Details tab displays the first and last name of each card entered. This is the default behavior, but this can be changed by updating the labels.
- Click Add Card to enter details for another card. You can repeat this process as many times as required, but not exceeding the maximum number of repeats that is configured in the Properties panel.
- Click Save.
- Click Build and Render Form to see how this rule is displayed when the form is built and rendered. In the example, details for three users (three cards) are collected. Each of these options can be selected and edited as needed. If a form user selects a component in the Card Content Template, and then saves and resumes, the component that was selected before the form was saved is still selected when the user returns to the form.
