Duplicate IDs Exercise v17.10

   PlatformApplicable to all products in Temenos Journey Manager.  |   Form Builder |  All versions   This feature is related to v5.1 and higher.

This exercise will demonstrate the new duplicate ID functionality. You will:

1. Create a duplicate ID and Review
2. Create a duplicate ID and Accept

Extra help is available at the end of this exercise if you get stuck.

Step 1: Add a component with a duplicate ID and Review

1. Make sure the form you created for the ID Management exercise is open.
2. Add a new Text Field beneath First Name.
3. Update the ID to FName.
Note

This ID was deliberately used to create a duplicate ID.

4. An inline warning confirms Value generates to a duplicate ID.
Note

IDs are case sensitive - if you enter anything other than FName, the inline warning will not display.

5. At this point, you can either modify the ID directly (in the property field) ... or (click away to) Review or Accept the update.
6. For this example, click Review and update the ID to MiddleName.
Note

Modifying the ID means it doesn't cause a duplicate.

Step 2: Add a component with a duplicate ID and Accept

1. Add another new Text Field beneath ‘Middle Name’.
2. Update the ID to MiddleName and click away.
3. For this example, click Accept in the popup.
Note

Choosing Accept appends a suffix to the ID, i.e. middleName_1.

4. Click Save and close the form (i.e. the browser tab).
