You can assign an Entity to multiple items at once using the Structure panel.
Extra help is available at the end of this exercise if you get stuck.
Step 1: Add a new Section and Components
- Display Page Two of the ‘Exercise – Entities’ form
- Add a new section to the form and call it HomeAddress.
- Add the following ‘text field’ components to ‘HomeAddress’:
- StreetNumber
- StreetName
- Suburb
- PostCode
- Country
- From the Entities panel, confirm the new components are ‘Not Assigned’ to any Entities
Step 2: Assign an Entity to multiple items
- To relate an Entity to multiple components, you need to assign the Entity to the section first, i.e. where all the components are located.
- Make sure the ‘Home Address’ section is selected.
- Use the ID property field to assign the location Entity to the Section.
- Display the Structure panel > right-click the homeAddress section and choose Apply Entity Path to Children.
- From the ‘Entities’ panel, confirm all components are now related to the ‘location’ Entity
- Select each component in the form and confirm the IDs have all been assigned to the location Entity.
- Click Save, then close the form (Browser Tab).
