Sometimes no matter how you try to clear it, Chrome's cache seems to just hang on for dear life.

This article will show you a method of deep clearing Chrome's cache that seems to work consistently, especially when dealing with new releases of Maestro.

Try this method when you have not had success with the common means of clearing Chrome's cache such as:

Menu item: More tools... Clear browsing data, then selecting 'the beginning of time' and at least 'Cached images and files'

Clicking refresh icon while holding Ctrl key down.

We will use Chrome's developer tools panel to get to the Network tab where we can see the list of files the browser is fetching and caching.

  1. Navigate to the Maestro Management Dashboard:
  2. Press F12 to bring up the Developer Tools panel
  3. Click on the Network tab
  4. Check the Disable Cache checkbox, your screen should now look a bit like this:
  5. Hold down the Ctrl key and click the refresh icon in the URL bar , then wait for the file downloads to complete
  6. Scroll through the list of files that were downloaded and look for ones that have '(from disk cache)' in the Size column
  7. Right click the filename in the Name column and select 'Clear browser cache':
  8. Hold the Ctrl key down and click the Refresh icon again
  9. Close Developer Tools panel by clicking the X on top right of the panel, or just press F12

Your persistent Chrome cache should now be cleared more thoroughly than before and you should be able to eliminate browser caching as the root cause of odd behaviour you might have been experiencing.
